It has been an inspiration to read the #Nurture1314 blogs and to be truthful I am finding it hard to find 13 things to be proud of this year - it hasn't been one of the best that's for sure.
So here goes nothing...
1 - Working with some amazing students, my yr11 who never admitted defeat and despite the odds being stacked against them got some amazing GCSE results.
2 - Being an auntie, I have the most adorable niece I am so proud to be able to be part of her life and watch her grow and develop x
3 - My website and Twitter, I took the website plunge a while ago and Twitter more recently, I am very happy to be able to share what I know with others and to support colleagues.
4 - Mastering crochet & Tunisian crochet - so people aren't embarrassed by the gifts I give them and will wear them!
5 - My NQTs and ITT teachers at work, they have developed into great teachers and I am proud to have worked with everyone of them.
6 - Becoming an SLE - it is a privilege to be able to work with other teachers outside my own school and to help them.
7 - Becoming a coaching trainer - I have been a trained coach for a number of years, but by adding the coaching trainer to my skill set I am able to further support and develop colleagues.
8 - My shared Dropbox - the ability to share resources with others makes me happy :o)
9 - Helping to develop the school's learning journey and resources that link directly to it, being a big part of the drive for improved standards and results.
10 - Developing resources to support the development of questioning techniques across the school.
11 - Seeing colleagues that I have supported develop and flourish, taking on new roles with greater responsibility.
12 - Having colleagues, who wouldn't otherwise, ask for my ideas & resources as @TeachingTricks online... strange that one!
13 - My wonderful finance, without whom I couldn't do what I do.... His support is everything to me.
True - but can I have some more of the ups this year....
My wishes for 2014.
1 - Learn a new craft skill - maybe painting tiles this time.
2 - Further developing my website and dare I say it writing a book....
3 - Finishing a larger crochet item for myself! Working on a poncho at the moment....
4 - Spending more time with my family, events this year have made me realise how fragile life is and I want to spend more time stocking up on the memories before it is too late x
5 - Not being let down again.... I learnt a hard lesson this year, don't trust people to do what they say they will I HAVE to always see the evidence now!
6 - Supporting my new Schools Direct trainees to become all they can be, with lesson obs, mock interviews and anything else they need to be successful.
7 - Helping my LM to develop our own SCITT, in the time of an ever evolving route through ITT this is really interesting.
8 - Continuing to support colleagues at work, through Twitter, facebook and this website.
9 - Enjoying the fruits of my fiances new found interest in homebrewing - the Scientist in me can't help but approve! (In particular the gingerbeer is much awaited.)
10 - Supporting my Year 12's and 13's to get the best results they can and the best opportunity for uni.
11 - Look into adoption, what do we need to do....
12 - More homecooking - that starts today with buttermilk biscuits for brunch and thai lemongrass/ginger chicken coconut curry for dinner.
13 - Loose weight.... see above and below!
14 - Health, wealth and happiness for all my family.
